HOW ARE AWARDS JUDGED?
We have an extraordinary, independent panel of local and international judges – Master Sommeliers, Masters of Wine and expert commentators all specially selected to maintain the integrity and independence of the Awards. The judges will assess each list based on the quality of the wines, the balance of choice, the design and presentation of the list, and the suitability of the wines to the style of cuisine.

OUR 27th YEAR
Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards were established in 1994 to recognise and reward the enormous investment by owners and sommeliers in time, skill and resources that go into developing the best quality wine lists and to also recognise and reward the dedicated owners and talented sommeliers creating those lists for Australia’s restaurants, hotels, clubs, wine bars, pubs, cafes and brasseries – large and small.
We are excited by the lift in Australian Wine List standards which parallel the equally outstanding increase in the standard of the menus offered and the standard of service delivered in restaurants, pubs, clubs, hotels, and wine bars across the country.
From only 10 Three Glass Awards in 1994 to over 155 in 2019, the increase has been outstanding – to the delight of our ever more discerning consumers – both local and international.
In 2019, est, NSW was named Australia’s Wine List of the Year and around the country winners from every State were celebrated. The type of trade winners also recognised included the Best City and Country Restaurants, Best Hotels, Pubs, Clubs and Wine Bars, down to the Best Small List (Max 50 wines).
