Sixpenny presents clever Modern Australian tasting menus utilising local suppliers, growers and producers to focus on creating a narrative around all things that make-up Australia. Sponsored by Flowstone Wines, Sixpenny are the worthy winner of Best Wine List, NSW. All entering establishments are automatically entered in their applicable State or Territory so the competition is fierce!
Judges comments: One of the more innovative and exciting wine lists going, Sixpenny delves deep into the world of the small wine producer, touching on wines that are innovative, edgy and a little left-field. Sommelier, Bridget Raffal, looks to Australia and Europe for inspiration presenting featured makers like Jacquart, Josmeyer, Nicolas Joly and Domaine de L’Anglore. This is a wine list full of discovery and the odd surprise, of amphoras and unusual varieties (Sciaccarello, Aleatico, etc), of Amber coloured white wines and savoury wines aged under flor. The odd classic also can be found.
